Year End - 2013

As you have probably noticed, I haven't blogged as much in 2013 as I did in the past. It's been a busy year for me personally, so the blog had to take a backseat to life. Early in the year, my mother was in the hospital for over three months. At times, we didn't know if we were going to lose her. She pulled through and then her sister, my aunt, a much loved member of our family, passed away. While we were still grieving the loss of my aunt, my dad had a heart attack. Since then, we have been back and forth to the hospital with his follow up care. And then, my grand uncle, the last surviving sibling of my grandpa, passed away. The pain of losing two treasured family members is still fresh in my mind. It's so fresh, I haven't even been able to blog about these two beloved people or their roles in our Cherokee family history.

But, I haven't been completely away from research. I have been working on two large research projects as well as making plans for topics in the new year.  Not only will there be an abundance of research posted, there will also be book reviews, contests, causes and a slew of other fun and exciting things.

I'm sorry I've, at times, been AWOL during 2013, but I promise, I'll make up for it in 2014!

Happy New Year to all my loyal followers!

Those are my thoughts for today.
Thanks for reading.
